Alex Mosher has always loved scary stories. He'd lie awake at night, jotting down spine-chilling tales in his notebook. People thought his passion for spookiness was odd, weird, even creepy. So one night, Alex had a plan. He would burn his stories in Old Smokey and be over with it. But when the elevator gets stuck on fourth floor, Alex figures he would just take the stairs. Suddenly, he hears his favorite horror movie playing behind the apartment walls, and he smells freshly baked pumpkin pie. Alex felt the urge to enter... but little did he know that doing so would start a chain of eerie events.
The woman who had captured Alex, Natacha, had a thing for scary stories, too. Once she had discovered Alex's pleasure for spooky tales, she assigned Alex a job. Each night, Alex would read one of his stories to Natacha, hoping to make her satisfied. Another child trapped in the apartment, Yasmin, tells Alex to make himself comfortable, because Yasmin had tried every type of escape she could imagine, but failed every attempt. Only Natacha had the keys that led back to the real world, and nothing would convince her to part from them. Reading scary stories to Natacha was Alex's only chance to survive, but he's running out of stories, and fast. Without these stories, Alex is running out of time to ever live again. Alex is desperate, so he will have to do anything to escape this twisted place.
